In theory it,s supposed to cool the fuel inside the tank thus making you have better fuel mileage.Several companies make them Novarossi,Rb,Integy,Team Durango

There are two different things here. One is a cooler that is NOT a fuel filter. The other is an actual fuel filter. I also noticed a couple of Kyosho drivers that had 2 fuel filters on, the second was NOT a cooler but in fact a kyosho fuel filter. I do not understand why they run two fuel filters, does a fuel filter do the same thing as the cooler?

They are 2 different items, the fuel filter has a small filter inside to filter out any crap that may find its way into the fuel, the cooler is for the exhaust line & is meant to cool the exhaust gases before they reach the tank, hopefully helping to keep the fuel slightly cooler as the exhaust gases are slightly cooler, its not designed to cool the fuel in the tank, either is the fuel filter.

also holds more air from the exhaust and this helps keep the idle more stable.
kind of like having more fuel line...

The larger volume filters do act more like a pressure chamber. It stores pressure and does damp the peak pressure from the exhaust giving the tank a more constant pressure.

Regarding the cooler: Nitro percentage decreases as temperature increases.
