Default Losi 8ight 2.0 buggy shocks

bought a new set of 8ight buggy shocks, been watching you tube on Drake, one scene he is talking about foam compensators being installed on top of the shock bladder? current shocks on the car do not have them and new kit does not have them. I see they are available, is there a need for the foam compensators? Are these maybe for the 3.0? Any input would be great
Thanks

The foams are for the vented shock caps that origianly came with the EU versions. Some used these on the US version buggy and trucks as well. The way to tell is by color. If they are the goldish, they are not vented. Black ones are. The hole is in the top under the eyelet. NOT tHE BLEED HOLE!!!

This is true only if someone did not drill holes in the top to make them into vented one's. I did this cuz I bout 8 brand new on E-bay for $20. I like the vented ones more for my truck and not so much for my buggy.

You wont need to open them all the way up. Just take them off the standoff and look at the bottom of the eyelet. If there is a hole, its a vented one.
