Default Top 25 RC Driver Ranking System

I have created a RC driver ranking system called Top 25 RC. Here is basically how it works. Top 25 RC is a non bias mathematical ranking system based on a drivers finishing position at qualifying events. The points awarded at a qualifying event are determined by the strength of the field at the event.

Drivers receive points based on their finishing position and the quality of their competition. Drivers may receive points at variety of events. Points remain on a driverís tally for a sliding two year period. A Drivers points are divided by the number of scoring events in which heís attended during the previous two years, with a minimum of 3 scoring events necessary to achieve a ranking. National level event scoring is based on a 150pt scale with TQ valued at 5pts and a worlds event is on a 200pt scale with TQ valued at 10pts.

I thought I would share this with everyone here. More info can be found on www.top25rc.com or the facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/rctop25rankings

The numbers and arrows you see to the left of the ranking show the changes in position when I added the events outside of the US. I originally only used the Worlds and US events but have now added events outside of the US.

depends. not all major races happen in the U.S.. lets say the last race was the worlds. I consider him to still be on top since he podiumed three times in a row at biggest of all races. Hara should at least be mentioned imo

This is clearly not accurate as I am not on the list.

On a serious note, Very cool idea.

First, how did we both miss him on that list... ha.

And for the record, my point wasn't to say that he isn't one of the top 25 in the world, only that based on this set of criteria, he wasn't on this list. Which is moot, cause he was the whole time...

How do you determine which races are "Qualifying Events".

rustyfingers-
That is a really good question and it is kind of complicated. Some races are automatic qualifiers such as Worlds, US nationals, and Euro A to name a few. But for a race to qualify outside of the automatic races it needs to have a strong enough field of racers in attendance. That is determined by adding the attending drivers Average points (This is the number that you see on the list) and that is the determining factor if the race is qualified as well as how the points will beak down throughout the places. The reason I chose to do it this way is because, in my opinion, what makes a top driver in the world isn't running around the world winning races against club racers (it doesnt matter if there is 500 entries, they should win those races), its about how you perform against other top level drivers in the world. Here is a couple US races that I will use as an example. Tessman wins 1/8 buggy at the Nitro Challenge with TONS of world class racers in attendance and Hara wins that Asia tour race with JQ being the only other world class driver there. Can those be considered equal wins? I don't think so. here is a link to the race i am referring to http://www.neobuggy.net/2013/11/26/h...nt/#more-36510

If you want on the list or want to climb farther up the list, then show up and race against the best.

Not very clear on how the actual points are amassed. Can you provide specific detail?
