Default HB Lightning vs. D8T

Hey guys, I have a good friend that just bought a HB Lightning thinking it was a D8T. So we simply want to know what the differences between the two are.

Thanks for the help,
-Steven

The D8T is far more modern. The Lightning is a very old design - it is now rebadged by HPI as the Trophy truggy I think... I'd much rather have the D8T..

That's what I was afraid of...

So what about durability?

I had a Lightning GT back in the day, and it was durable - had great plastics.. BUT, the alu hubs broke.. There were upgrade CNC parts or whatever I think.. Nowadays you'd have to compare it to whatever's available for the HPI Trophy truggy. Again - the Trophy is a rebadged Lightning - %100.. There are probably upgrades for the hubs.. Besides that, I don't know - I'd try to find a Trophy thread.. There are probably more threads out there devoted to the electric Trophy Flux, so maybe ask there..(there's probably a thread in the electric offroad section.. I don't know though for sure - I don't go there because it's full of talk about electric cars, which for me are about as interesting as watching grass grow..)

For bashing, with an upgrade or two, it's probably fine.. If you want to go near a track though, a D8T would definitely be preferable..

Worlds apart, and there are no parts for it, sell it while it's still in one piece.
