Default M2C Racing Kyosho TKI3 chassis w/skid plates

The M2C Racing Kyosho TKI3 chassis w/ front and rear skid plates- My main reason for wanting to get one of these chassis' is because of the integrated and replaceable skid plates. If the chassis performs like the original in terms of handling, I don't see myself using an original chassis again. I also don't see myself using aftermarket skid plates. These photos are from a friend who just got his. Our track is very abrasive and without skid plates, the back of the stock chassis wears out prematurely. The screw heads wear down quickly as well.

I ordered the same M2C chassis w/ skid plates for my Kyosho TKI3 that my friend ordered for his. Here are some comparison photos of my M2C chassis with a new Kyosho kit chassis and worn out Kyosho kit chassis. These are the dark brown kit chassis' not the lighter HA replacement chassis' FYI. Some of the photos show the M2C chassis lined up with a kit chassis intended to show the same hole locations.

I was a little concerned with putting a non-Kyosho chassis on my car for fear that the handling would be jacked. A friend of mine who bought his chassis before I did also had it on his car before I put it on mine. We put the same set up on the both cars and drove them back to back on the track layout before the one that is shown in the video. I had driven that previous layout a lot so I figured I'd be able to dectect something. Both cars felt the same. I couldn't tell the difference.

What about lap times? That is going to be hard to say. Everytime I go out I try and test something new to see if it's better, worse or the same and to get a good feel for what the change does. I was intending to test diff oils on my previous chassis, but when I went to remove the screws under the chassis for the front suspension, the heads were so worn I could barely get my hex driver in there. The screws were shot. New screws wouldn't work because the chassis was so worn there they couldn't sit flush anymore. So I swapped in the new M2C chassis and also did diff oil change that I was planning to do to begin with. I could tell the oils changed the forward drive of the car quite a bit. So now the lap times... I dropped .3 seconds a lap on fast lap, top 5, 10 and 15. Honestly, I completely attribute that to the diffs, not the chassis. Regardless, the chassis didn't hold me back either so I pretty happy about that.

Here is some video of my car with the M2C chassis during the nitro main at a club race from a week ago. Started 3rd on the grid. The video is missing the last 3 1/2 minutes because the memory card in my GoPro got full. Sorry about that.

At the time of this video, the chassis had 3 long days on it over a period of 2 weeks.

These are some pics of the chassis after two long days of running it. The track is rather abrasive. I'd be praying on the Rosary Beads with the stock chassis without DE skid plates because it sands it down quickly. I know you can't tell much after two days, but here it is.

Default More chassis photos

These are after week two. I'll put up more current photos of usage / wear when I have time to take them and upload them this weekend.
