its an awesome series and the host tracks create a new layout just before each series stop so its always fresh and new (no local advantage)..

entries range from 250-350 - you can see entry counts from previous races here: https://nctracing.liverc.com/events/

first race this weekend in pasco! https://tinyurl.com/y6pqsjfq

Wish I would have known about this sooner, no way I can do one day notice. Sounds like a fun series, next year...!

Found out our local "Thursday Thunder" series was missing some top drivers, I guess due to them going to this race, must be a big deal. Made it easier to TQ and win tonight though,... LOL.

How large is the track? 13t bell works on most tracks.

Try 6k 6K 3K in the diffs. I think stock setup is 5K 5K 2K.

All the 2015 setups and downloads/manuals are here:

Default Xray xb8 keeps popping driveshafts.

Hi guys I've got a second hand xray xb8 2015 and it keeps popping out a front driveshaft .will a worn diff cup be the culprit.

Thanks

Anyone try the MIP bypass pistons yet?

Tested on a large outdoor track, big high speed triple-triple section, medium traction, gets bumpy.

I tried the (mugen) Flash Point MIP set on my 2019 PBS practice car. The piston fit was ok in the 2019 shock body, seems very very close. They allowed me to go up in oil for more pack on big jump landings, while keeping traction in the bumps. The bypass on shocks rebound is much quicker than what I had on the stock setup, but with much better pack, really saving that chassis on the triple-triple landing!

Let me know what you think if you have run them.

New MIP (Part# FP18400) setup:
Front: 6 hole 1.3, blue bypass washers, Hudy 500 CST
Back: 6 hole 1.3, blue bypass washers, Hudy 400 CST

My old setup:
Front: 6 hole 1.3, Hudy 450 CST
Back: 6 hole 1.3, Hudy 350 CST

I went lighter in oil with them by 50... Stock oil felt too stiff to me.. but I only got to try them one weekend. Haven't had a chance to try anything else.

AE pistons or Mugen? Was wondering if the AE pistons are actually different in size...?

I ran them in last nights race, took 2nd. I think your right though, I'm going back down to at least stock oils. Temp dropped about 20 deg, made the car really slow to respond in the technical sections, jumped and landed well but slower elsewhere. Heaver oil by 50 CST was too far for the cooler night temps, maybe summer 90+ deg will need the higher CST oils.

So far I have 3 races
1st race qualified second DNF on fuel issues.
2nd race TQ'd, fastest lap over all, lapped the entire field in 7 minutes, took 1st
3rd race, Qualified 4th, took 2nd. (ran MIP pistons)

At this point, I'm really feeling confident I'll be in the mix at the top all year with this Xray car, but we shall see!
