MP9 pros:
very easy to be fast with it
better handling car hands down
MP9 cons:
durability concerns if crashed

XB9 pros:
durable
good Xray quality
XB9 cons:
none that I know of, other than not being as fast or easy to be fast with as the MP9

but.. why not get a Hotbodies D812, and be fasterrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!?

I've raced the Tki3 for about 10 races and never broke anything! It's very durable.

The mp9 is a great car but I would not call it durable. I have personally picked up many broken cars off the track. The kyosho also needs more maintenance but it dominates at the tracks for a reason...

Personally I drive a x ray buggy and kyosho truck. I don't have a ton of time on the buggy though, the drive is very nice though and the build is second to none. You can't go wrong with either.

I see alot of Kyoshos in Norway and they all get relly sloppy, and fast... It is a great car and it drives very very nice. I have driven the XB9 this year and tested the MP9 for a few small times.

It seems the Xray are faster were the grip is very high, like bluegroove or astroturf. That is also the feedback from a friend of mine testing both cars at his home track, astroturf. He borrowed a XB9 13 and was 07 seconds fatser with that one over his MP9 that he has used all year.

I borrowed a MP9 and was faster with that car at a dirt track with low traction.

XB9 seems to hold up alot better, and i have not seen one singel Xray brake any parts the whole seasson here. The Kyosho has getting better but still brakes, and it is alot more sloppy than a MP9 after they have ran the same amount of fuel.

I am not shure witch car to drive for 2014, but for now i already have preordered the XB 9 14 that rumors says soon will be released.

The only weekspot on the Xray is that the servosaver plastic gets worn after a while. I think it is abaout 8-10 dollars for parts so thats not a big deal. The XB9, i very seldom makes big changes in setup, just small tweeks to the rear suspension and upper camberlinks.

Best of luck :-)

I like both cars and using mp9. IMO the most important cons. about xray is, they come every year with a new buggy. I can't handle to not using the actual chassis and because of that staying away from xray

You know that Kyosho has a very wide range of Mp9 cars? They have also come out with a new kit almoast evry year.

MP9 Team Kyosho international 2008
MP9 standard 2009
MP9 TKI 2 2010
MP9 TKI 2 WC 2011
MP9 TKI 3 2012

Source is the Kyosho official website :-)

It is only for 2013 they have not come out with an updated kit.

Do we really have to have this discussion? Neither is "best" the op has given us under no conditions this will be driven, so any suggestions are really shots in the dark.
