Default 3 needle carb compared to 2 needle carb HELP!!!

I am Ok at tuning motors but cut my teeth on 2 needle carbs like OS max CVR rotary which is set and leave be. Now I moved on to big block which are slide carbs and some have 3 needles instead of 2. What is the technique in comparison to the 2 needle?

Also with big block slides is it common for the carb to be finicky until warmed up completely? I have 2 O'donell .21 SS that I love but run funky for about 5 minutes. Then they can't be beat.

Do not touch mid screw it has hugh effect on transition from low to high needles. It can be adjust for some very fine tuning but again leave it alone it will cause you more headaches

So tune it just like I always have? I get the hsn set first then do the pinch test on the lsn.

Could you give me a specific example of when the middle needle should be used?

It should be used if you are running a model helicopter.
Otherwise, don't touch it.
