Default Mugen 6 vs 7

Sorry this may already be out there but the search butt doesn't want to work well for me tonight. I have been out of the nitro game for about a year and a half and looking to get back into the game. I don't necessarily need the top top of the line but don't want stuff that is old and outdated either. So with that being said... What are the main differences between the Mugen mbx6 and the mbx7. I remember them having a few different versions of the 6 as well so are any of those "almost" 7
Basically if I want to go with Mugen and be competitive at an intermediate level which route should I go

Thanks

Night & Day..... There is no almost 7. The 7 is a very different. The is hands down a lot more controllable on and off power.

you can get a used 7 roller for about $100 more than a 6r. If your just buying for bashing and/or the infrequent day at the track the 6r is gonna be more than what you would need and more cost effective. Its still an extremely race capable buggy and tough as nails....

on the other hand, If you are planning on seriously racing and dont mind spending a bit more, the 7 is the way to go.

Ok I have both and race both

The 6r is dialed car smooth and predictable
The 7 is supper fast but loose

Both are strong the 6 has a tendency to under steer the 7 has a tendicy to over steer

The 6 is slow and stable
The 7 is loose and fast

Loose is fast and slow is consistant

Consistency every lap wins but loose and consistant well that's just fast lol

I have both and I will say that the 6r is by far a better handling car. The downside of the 6 is the front arms are not as durable.

I modified the rear of my chassis and run the 6 rear end. It makes a big difference in rear grip.

I had both too.. 6R and now the mbx7.
The 6 to me felt no so good..

Where as the 7 was great.. In my hands..

I was going to give up on the 6 when I had it and run back to kyosho.. But I said I try the 7 bc they changed somethings around.. And wow.. What a better buggy FOR ME..

I was now running with the leaders and winning some races.. Where as with the 6 I never was in the picture.

So what I read here I must like a loose buggy.. Buy my 7 don't feel loose to me....

Very easy to drive and able to be pushed hard and stay consistent..

.. So sir if you are use to driving a 1/10 Nitro truck the 7 is for you..

Just $. 02

Same, i havent driven a 6r but my 7 is very planted and exactly like you said very easy to drive hard and stay consistent, definitely not loose. The only time my 7 was loose was when it was new, each to there own i suppose.
A friend that has driven both found with the 7 you had to be more precise with your driving but he said you could drive it harder and also it held better corner speed, he's very quick and really liked the changes they made with the 7.

I had a spare 7 chassis so I just laid the 6 chassis over the 7 and traced the rear end out and dremeled to match. Everything bolts right up.

If I remember correctly Battle moved his forward by drilling new holes. I kept the same holes you just have to modify the droop stops on the 7 chassis as they stick out further than the six.

What does it actually do for your driving
Does it have steering ? Puts more grip in ?

shortest better. should be put in hand along the barrel back. in this way it brings back all the weight of the car ahead and faster through the corners and in the change of direction and not lose more in the rear corners
