Default your "sick obsession" ...

in an attempt to make a more personal thread, I figured Id share some of my girlfriends opinions on our hobby (a sick obsession by her account) just to see what the rest of you do on a daisly basis...

ill admit, i have at least a bit of non-diagnosed OCD. Ill sit at the dining room table for HOURS cleaning bearings, checking this and that ect, my dam buggy has to be perfect. last minute prepping for a race last weekend ended up w me staying up till 3:45am painting a new body (working the next day at 5:45am) then spending most my friday prepping the buggy for the race not to go to bed til 1:15 AM, needing to be at the track at 7am.

lets hear your stories... im just curious

My concentration with a total of 7 3/4hrs sleep over two days would be total spastic driving style, but thats just me.
No sleep and concentration just dont mix.

That's not OCD....That's borderline Redneck...

If your dining room table also dubs as a work bench, you might be a Redneck.

Default well

Perhaps you might overdo it a little. I think we all have OCD to be honest. Ask your girlfriend to get a hobby, not in a mean way, but my point is she may not have something that she is passionate about.

All she is trying to say is that she wants a little more of your time to be focused on her. That is one way to hurt a relationship is to be focused on one thing like RC over her. Unless you dont care if she leaves you I would rethink your priorities

My wife loves it. She goes to every race with me. She helps out where she can. She understands it's a hobby that I enjoy so she lets me race when ever I want.

Mine was more of a "funny"..

You know, (Jeff Foxworthy)....

"If you have to climb a water tower with a can of spray paint to defend your sisters honor, you might be a redneck".. ???

Anywho... Racers are unique and do some individually sick twisted things that normal people would not understand. I get it, we all have our (disturbing to others) things we do before a race..

I give my other 1/2 a calendar each season of what weekends I will be racing..... This year had me away 13 weekends for 2 nights and every Sunday is a race day. Only missed 4 weekends this season due too rain or vacations. I competed in 3 UK National championships but missed out on a NEO entry due to work
I also have a whole spare room dedicated to RC....

But I'm perfectly normal
