I agree - a solid outside chance punt....with the TC platform under development and the prototype dnx408 still being put through its paces (still a long way off being released IMHO), TD have the funds and resources to acquire Hara and join TD to push this still relatively young but well established company into the fore-front

If they signed lutz up on a 10 year contract, its a plausible option

I think it's ultimately up to what Hara himself wants to do - join a strong program with the intention of just winning, join a program to give his input and work on development, etc. I see Mugen, Durango, and X-Ray all as legitimate possibilities since they fit that balance more than others.

That's the most lucrative business in R/C!

R/C Market = 98% basher, 2% racer.

HPI has no direction. come on who releases a new buggy without parts for that duration this is after scrapping there original buggy that was supposed to be released. Hara has followers also all the hard HB guys on Rctech are already wheeling another brand.

I think it's a great decision. He's a world champ with mad skills. Serpent would be a nice home.

I didnt mean it as a bad thing. Im fully aware of how big the basher market is. Traxxas is the king of the basher world.

That's why I decided to go with JQ, I was with HPI for years bashing. They have become a mess in the past few years.

Maybe Hara wanted the CR8 and Tessman wanted D812.. then Hara got disappointed when hotbodies went with the "tessman frankenwagen" design for the D812, rather than the CR8 that he'd been testing?

After the D812 was released, Hara continued to run a D8 w/modifications, seems odd doesn't it?
Maybe he felt he wasn't the main man anymore, and Tessman had stolen his thunder.

Not everybody likes being number 2, and Tessman is only getting better all the time.
