Hudy has said that he doesn't intend to sponsor drivers with the engine line so I see no problem with him staying with OS.

Durango, esp. with their developing onroad program, with all of Hobbico's money makes a LOT of sense.

No he doesn't. He could do two or more companies just like Groskamp (Tamiya, Shepherd, CRC). For instance, Mugen and Yokomo.

Or Burch who ran Xray and Mugen until Xray made the 1/8th onroad car.

sooooo if he joined X-ray, he could race their touring car, their 200mm nitro touring car, their 12th scale, do they have an 8th scale onroad? and then their buggy came 2nd in the euros with the new PBS frontend... sooooooo it sounds like he'd be allright?

I kinda doubt that but maybe Sonada is getting tired. They already brought in Pietsch to take over a lot of the design work on the onroad cars. Maybe bring in Hara to start taking over offroad design work.

mind sharing what is the source for this information, or is it just your best guess?
If mugen were going to make an electric sedan, why didn't they do it already, years ago..

They actually did once, back in the early days of TC. It was not successful. In fact, I'm not sure if it was ever actually released but I do remember seeing it in an article somewhere.

Definitely not the golden child for HB as he once was, Ty has definitely received all the media attention in the last 2 years....

But he (Hara) wont necessarily go with a 'proven' formula....he could go with any company to help develop one of their platforms...either on or off road. Take TD's newly developed TC platform with that UK driver, been doing very well indeed and it hasn't even been released yet. So for example with someone like HARA on board, they can take development further and TD could establish themselves in this segment - he could go to any company given the right contract and conditions of employment

Speculation:

He could go with ze germans and sign with LRP as they have all platforms covered....

Or he could go with Tamiya and re-kindle the off-road program and fill the void once held by Lee Martin and further back Ryan Lutz....

Don't think Kyosho will pick him up, their payroll is already filled with the likes of Tebo, King and Mcbride... Maybe Mugen to 'keep it in the family'

Am betting on xray, they are releasing alot this year and can do with a top driver let alone a great ambassador of RC.

Hara is such a nice guy to talk to and always finds the time to talk with you let alone concentrate on the races.

He may go join Josh Alton at AE and help with the RC8.3!
