Could be a lot of things.. Clutch and bearings good? Linkage? When in doubt, set the needles back to flush and retune...

I have a LRP 28 on my Savage. Stock needle settings is not flush. Don't remember exactly what the manual says. Checked your manual or find it online. If you set it flush, you will be lean on top and bottom.

Actually, I have the LRP .30x and if you set the hsn to flush the engine will be lean. It's the first engine I've ever had that is like this. I thought it was very strange but, the proof was in the tune. I'm not saying the .28 is like this, just pointing out that making the needles flush doesn't work for all nitro engines.

I have the .30X as well. Returning to flush is pretty much standard for all engines as the rough point of departure for finding the right tune. There are some engines that require I guess a bit out from flush(Go's on the LSN for ex. sometimes..), but it's rare.. There are a lot of variables when it comes to tuning an engine..

(Just checked my .30.. Both needles slightly in from flush...)
