Hi guys,
We are testing some new gears now. So far so good. We're doing our best to put this one to bed soon. Thanks.

Thanks

That's great. But please tell me it's wider than the original spur gear.

The box setup works great at those tracks. 20-20-10. But I stay in that area 20-15-10, 15-12-10, 15-20-10, 10-15-7

Ride height

Do you guys think the stock ride height (35) is too low?

Hey guys having trouble with my sons truggy not hitting his OFNA starter wheel. Hes running a os .28 motor. Looks like the flywheel is to small and the flywheel hole also. Does anyone run a bigger OD flywheel or shave down the motor mounts?

Just get it, it's the best Truggy on the market imo. Everyone says how good the MBX7T turns this Truggy has it covered in that department.

Is it the blue box. If so. I use the same one and no problems turning the flywheel. How old is the box. Maybe the starter wheel is worn down.

RC-ZOMBIE 03-14-2015 06:48 PM

Anyone try the new brake cams?

Yeah Ofna blue box. I actually just put a new starter wheel on thinking the old one was worn down. We got a Protek sbox from a friend and that one seems to work OK not the best though. On my sons AE rc8t the ofna box worked like a champ no probs.

The NT could turn laps inside of a school bus.

6 tank fresh motor and just parking lot break-ins, straight into qualifiers and pro truggy a-main. Wow, this thing is a blast to drive! I need to work on steering (pushes a bit), but that could be due to the tires. I only had some very old medium compound small pins and could have used soft or even super soft.

If you're still on the fence, I would wager a guess that you're going to love it :D

Yes. I like 37 f&r or 37f 38r.

Yes the new cams are a must have as they provide a more linear and responsive break feel. No more on or off breaks.

I suppose that a piece of fuel line on the brake linkage and some brake curve can make stock cams usable, at least i feel that on/off behavior is gone on my NB48

rceefreak 03-16-2015 07:08 PM

Is the part # for the option brake cams tkr5215b?

Yes. They are a lot better than the stock cams as they allow the linkage to work more effectively without binding.

The box setup is awesome and honestly includes most everything you "need" but you may want to get the 10 degree brake cams at least. Otherwise the box stock setup is a pretty good starting place, I know very few people that have needed to change the stock shock springs or even fluids. It's a great truck that just works you will love it.

I just picked up my Truggy . I was looking through the manual and see that u can move the motor to the front or rear . What is most guys running and what is the difference between each set up . I'll be starting out with box stock. I ordered the 10deg brake cam and other parts.

Thanks

I am running front motor. Rear motor is supposed to give you more grip. Tried it but did not notice much of a difference in rear grip. But it did take a little steering away.

I started building the diff's and the center one was realy tight . Does anyone have a problem with the center diff when u take them apart with the fluid comming out whille your trying to take it apart ,

I had no issues when building mine but I would highly recommend going to 7/10/5 in the diffs.

BRIAN77 03-22-2015 11:12 PM

I already did 20/20/10. Oh shoot sorry !!!! I made a mistake I ment to say rear diff being too tight of a fit. The front and center went together like every other diff I played with . Is this normal ? I would hate to try and change or clean out that diff with fluid making a mess.

The rear is a little difficult to get compressed and installed the first time. Using some diff lube on the walls of the metal will make it go together easier. If the gears are difficult to move after installing, something is probably not installed/aligned properly.

Hey Guys,

Now that outdoor racing season is around the corner I've received a few requests for rear skid plates. I am out of stock right now but I should have some available soon. I'll add a pre-order to my web site if you'd like to make sure you get one off this batch.

I still have a few sets of shock tools left. I don't plan on making any more. If you want a set please grab them now.

Thanks for all of your support over the last few years.

Here's mine.

RokleM 03-25-2015 05:55 AM

No offense, but I think electronic switches do not work well at the stock location. It is one option, but there are exposed cables, the mounting location is too small, etc. I did this instead, but you also have to be careful. I have screws that are short enough to get into the plastic and flush, but not into the box. Obviously having a pointy screw in a battery box would be a bad idea ;) No solutions are ideal at this point and hopefully we will have some more mounting options in the future to support electronic switches vs mechanical. I've personally had enough mechanical switches fail that I no longer have any interest in using them.

I did mine very similar to Xt8truggy. I thought about mounting it on the battery cover, but I felt like it be a pain taking the cover on and off. Plus I had the cable running down the back of the box and I didn't like that. However, RokleM seems to have his cable going in the gap between the receiver and battery box. I took the mounting plate off my switch and us parma double side tape to mount the switch. Its clear (red cover), very sticky, but comes off a lot better than those paper type double sided tape. I've used it on my esc's and never had a prob so i fig it would work and so far it has.

No offence taken. But I think the sky rc switch is perfect in the stock location. It's easy to get to it screws in the stock switch holes. The exposed cables are cable tied and the cable tie goes through the cover. So the switch cable doesn't move. I've been running this setup for 6 months no issues.

CKmaxx 03-25-2015 06:35 PM

Here's what I ended up with. Cut the switch to fit and siliconed it in place...

Definitely unique! Let us know how it works out.

Hmmm...I have the Ofna truggy blue starter box with a Picco motor. The flywheel is recessed a couple of mm inside the chassis and I'm able to hit it with no problems. I did have a problem getting the flywheel and starter wheel to line up. I was installing the brackets like the picture on the box. Now they are lined up like the picture on Ofna website and it works perfectly.
