I run anywhere between 7.5 and 15.5. Depends a lot on conditions, driving style and tires.

no, I run almost 50/50 on brakes. Where your initial setting should be depends a lot on the track and tire choice. I have a winter track that I will start out with 7.5 front and rear and a couple in the summer that i start at 15.5. The best thing I can tell you, is to go out and drive a while, set them where you like, and then take your readings. this will give you your best starting point for similar conditions the next time. also, if you need to do brake work during the event you can get them back to a similar feel without a lot of warm up lap adjustments.
