Will the BCE chassis fit the 8ight 2.0 rtr starter box? Also, is there an issue with the spur gear hanging too low? I figured since the chassis was thinner, there could be a chance of the spur gear sticking out.

I'm considering buyind a BCE chassis with "upgrades"....I'm just making sure I'm not getting myself into trouble!!

The dimensions of the bce are exactly the same as the 8ight 2.0 chassis so will fit right on the starter. With the spur gear all I did when I tried a bce was to shim the centre diff mount up 1mm , this worked fine using a 48t spur no issues .

What did you use to shim it up? Also, did you like the chassis?

I used a couple clutch bell shims slid over the screws that hold the mount in place . Chassis was good , really hard wearing and a lot more flex than stock .
