Gel cell...heavy...but I don't mind...plenty of power and long battery life between charges.

Gel has nothing on 4 cell lipo. Gel is old and dont have the power or convenience of lipo. My starter box with 4 cell is good all weekend running 2 classes... Got my venom pack for $25 on amazon.

Sure they do. A crap ton of weight. I used to hate carrying my friends box to the grid for down and quiets with that big heavy battery in it.

they don't weigh 100lbs charged it once all summer, thats with 1 new engine break in and 2 engines with fresh pinches so power is not a factor with a gel....

Buy once and get the best, not perfect but these are super popular for a
reason.

You can run 1 4 cell 14.8 volt Lipo. Just find one with a Tamiya type plug. I think Venom makes one that's cheap and perfect for a starter box.
