I always thought carbon fiber was the premium material but the xrays seem to come with carbon fiber and offer aluminum hop ups. Is one stronger than the other or is it mainly preference?

You have to ask yourself the question if you can feel the difference between a carbin and aluminium shock tower. If you can feel it then it is only in your mind.

For the most it is only the looks or price difference.

The stock carbon towers are superior IMO. Just sand edges round and CA seal them.

The Al towers exist because Xray can switch to a batch of Al towers with allmost no extra effort, and because some racers want to run Al towers no matter what.

My first racing buggy was an XRAY 808. I crashed allot, allot, and then some more. IMO XRAY's carbon is better than most other brands aluminum. Follow instructions for sanding and sealing so it does not peal

+1 xray carbon parts are superior to other brands like xray plastic. I had 808e with carbon tower and it survived several crashes. I bought alu tower too at the begining, but never used it and sell with the car.
