2nd hand Mugen MBX6 $150
Go GXII-5HRO with Efra 2072 pipe @ amainhobbies, $249 / $219.99 "member price" (dunno wth member is)
cheap 2.4ghz radio (minimum requirement: Must have EPA adjustments) $30
Align DS620 (same as Savox 1258) @ amain $67
-amain $25 discount for $250 or more purchase

Comes out at around $500.
Good luck.

With a $500 budget you best bet is to 2nd hand or go with a RTR like the JQ Products THE RTR Car..

Are you talking $500 for everything, running car, or roller?

Closer to $200+ for something not beat-up.

+Starter box, nitro basics (fuel bottle, glow ignitor, etc), clutch setup, receiver battery pack, (charger?), new body, few sets of wheels/tires ($100), etc, etc.

Gets pricey.

How often deos a $500 budget car become as expensive as a $1500 primo perfect built nitrobuggy?

Allost every single time within a year of racing.

The cheapest setup for a year of racing can cost 3 times more than your budget, but still be cheaper in the long run.

I started with a losi rtr, in a months time I was upgraded to a race roller with better stuff. The rtr was a waste of money. Save up and buy nicer stuff from the get go

Seems like there is before you get into it. It all goes out the door once you're hooked.
