The Hudy one works well.

the mugen one is half the price of the hudy unit and you dont have to hit it with a hammer.

I use the mugen tool for replacing dog bones, great tool and very easy to use.

For a Losi 8ight I use the: HUD106050 Hudy 3x14mm Drive Shaft Pins.

You can also purchase a replacement pin driver for this tool if you damage it.

I have found it helps to use a dremel cut off wheel to cut of a worn pin near the dog bone joint prior to trying to remove it.

Thanks guys. I had no doubt the hudy tool would be good but the price and replacement parts for the Mugen make it the winner in my book so ling as it works well. Based on the feed back it does.

Even though I like the design of the Mugen, I have had it break several times. I have given up on it and hand my drive-shafts to my buddy that has the Hudy tool...

Would you please describe how it brakes? From the pictures I have seen I understand how the Mugen tool is supposed to work but I'm not sure about the hudy tool. Any help on that would be appreciated too. Thanks.

I use a 3 lb hammer to tap the pins in and out with the hudy. Seems to work well, easy transition.

The tool insert (both the pin remover and pin inserter) are made of material that is just not strong enough. I have broken the remover (the one with the pin built in) twice and the inserter once. Some dogbone pins are very tight and with the Mugen tool there is a chance that the tool insert skips off the pin and damages the end that pushes the pin.

I use the one from rcrenew.com

I've been using it for almost a year. It's half the price of the hudy, and does not use a hammer. Just 3/4 inch and 1/4 inch box wrenches, which are really common in most people's tool box. (real tool box, not rc tool box lol) It can also be clamped in a vice in lieu of the 3/4 inch wrench. Simple. Effective. Doesn't work-harden the pins or the dog bones by pounding on them.

It's paid for itself several times over. He also sells pins that are high quality.

Biggest reason to use it:
MADE IN THE USA. BY AN AMERICAN COMPANY.

Yup. Lance is great, he does good work, and his products are first rate. I'm not a team driver. When people treat you right, it makes you want to spread the word.
