Default Need comparison help!

Since I am currently deployed, I am thinking about the next RC I want to get. I am thinking very hard about the 2wd nitro shortcourse in specific.

I saw that the SC10GT is now in production, but to be honest, I have never been that great of an AE fan. However, I do love HPI.

What I am thinking about is grabbing the nitro HPI Firestorm 10T and converting it to a shortcourse truck. But I want to know if it will be worth it in the long haul over just buying something purpose built such as the SC10GT.

So what I really want to know is people's experiences with the nitro Firestorm, and also owners of the RC10GT2 or SC10GT.

The only thing I know about the Firestorm is that it appears to share some suspension parts with the Blitz that I already own. So if I do go ahead and pull the trigger on the Firestorm idea, ESE suspension parts will be used. Possibly the addition of 1/10 "big bore" shocks from either AE or some other company like Team C or Losi.

So any reviews, CONSTRUCTIVE comments or suggestions, or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Go associated, you get a purpose built kit, rather than buying an HPI and converting it. AE higher quality too.

If you're an HPI guy then I say go for the Firestorm and convert it.

Well, the only thing I am concerned about with the HPI is how good the tranny/braking system is. Since I have a Blitz, I am familiar with everything else on it. Also, not sure how easy installing bumpers will be, but nothing that fabbing up brackets can't fix.

The conversion should be simple, since the lower main chassis is a pure and simple straight and flat metal plate. No angles for kickup to mess with.
