Default Pleas help ID vintage Nitro RC

Hi everyone,

I bought this at a shop in toronto about 20 years ago, from what I have figured out .21 skyward engine made by picco for the canadian market. Its a 4wd buggy and I was told it was late 70's to early 80's by a local rc shop. The only markings I could find say WF Models on the gas tank. The chassis look really similar to the USA1. Let me know your thoughts I will take some more pics of it and send them off soon. In the mean time give me your best guess PLEASE!

Uploaded some more pics and from what I've seen or been able to find it really looks like the mean mudder but smaller tires and suspension.

Default Hm

Actually, it looks a hell of a lot like the Kyosho that Delta first started importing back in '85. Look more closely at it, clean it up and see if you can find anything else to identify it.

The mounting of the shocks and the arms looks to me like a Serpent Cobra but I know there were more cars looking like this.

Smile Robbe Pantera

It looks very similar to the picture below. They came under different names, Great Vigor - Hunter or Robbe Pantera, Hobby Lobby . And it has the resemblence of a Serpent Cobra. Hope this helps.

Ok. So I have done a little mor digging, it is a cross between the skyward mean mudder and the hobby lobby Hunter. Although it is older then most that I have seen. Now the next question, what should I do with it. What is this thing worth? Or should I spend a lot of time trying to restore it (which I can't seem to find any time to post more pics). Main question is there a market for it, I know its rare but does that mean much in the Nitro RC world?

X2!Almost 100% sure it's a Serpent Cobra ORV

There's no market for a buggy like yours, what I would do is clean her up and shelf it.

Turn the ccoling head 60 anti clockwise for better cooling. If its a Cobra the upper plate has been removed. It surely looks like a Serpent tank

yes seems like Serpent stuff..
if you don't want to keep the car
restore it and/or put the car on ebay, you can find collectors for it

I've built a USA1 and can say for certain nothing on that vehicle represents a USA1. I would clean it up the best you can and put it on ebay and see what someone will pay for it. Its probably not worth putting much time and money into it as parts and useful information will be scarce. Nice find though, its always interesting to see what vehicles used to look like. I remember being very interested in nitro during the 80s and never had enough money to pursue it. I always hated the 10 minute runtimes followed by an hour or two of charging before i could play with it again. Luckily i never lost interest in nitro and eventually had the money to get into it. Its a disease really

i have 2 of these use one for spare parts
years ago i made a twin electric gear box using 2 astro flight .15's to power it
probably would work a lot better now with the new electronics that are out there
the amount of nicad's needed for even a short run made this thing weight a ton
it is almost identical in size to my kyosho ultimo dx
does yours have the reverse gearing
