I have been in this hobby for only about six months, buying both my Losi 8ight's used(one 1.0, one 2.0). I have started to have servo issues. What is a pretty good servo to use with a cap of $90(hopefully less)? Also, Can you have the same kind of servo on steering and throttle, or does it matter. I have 2 futaba 3305 I just bought new before asking about this. Please give me some advice. Another thing, can these servos be repaired after they stop, or is it worth the time or money?

The Savox servos are great and the price point is great also.
I'm using the sc-1257 and running them on direct lipo and they are working great

You can't beat Savox. Price for performance they are the best out there imo.

FWIW, I had a 1257 die on me after running it unregulated. The coreless motor looks identical to the 1267, but the board is different.

Hobbico CS-170, same exact servo as the hitec 7955 which are pretty much indestructible.

tried the whole savox deal, 3 out 3 failed with in 4-5 races each. well the third one just wouldnt center and chattered back and forth, became hard to drive when wheels are turning back and forth on its on.

No matter what brand, get at least 300 oz/in on steering and at least 150 oz/in on throttle. All the big name brands are probably fine.

I've also been thru 3 Savox. While they're still working, they're the best bang for the buck. I've since switched to Radiopost. Not Bec I'm their driver but if u ever get yr hands on one, I'm pretty sure u won't be disappointed. They are slightly higher than yr budget though.

I ran savox earlier but no luck for me.The throttle one died in 2 month and steering one died in 5 month.Now i run hitec 7955 steering and 7940 throttle for more than a year without any issue.I got a new set but im not going to put it in yet.I want to push it for another season and see how long it will last.So far no slop what so ever on the gear.Im happy with hitec for now.I heard lots of good reviews about radiopost aswell but if u are on budget hitec 7955/7954 is hard to beat!

savox 1257 throttle and 1256 for steering

The S3305s will work ok. I have a pair in a RC8 and they seem to do ok. Torque and speed numbers aren't great but they work. I really like the Savox 1256TGs though. I use them for both throttle/brake and steering duties in a RC8B and a D8T. Just make sure your servo saver isn't to tight. I have stripped the output gear on one. The replacement gear was easy to install and stronger than the original. At least it weighed twice as much as the original.

Savox 1267's on steering and throttle with a lipo. I even found a shop the other day on Ebay that had them for $73.95 each, shipped. I bought 4 more.

had 1267 in buggy, changed to SB-2270SG because imo 1267 are not powerful enough for buggy.

since 2270īs are in, i know how breaks can work and how much steering the mbx6 has.

Love my Savox and never had a problem.

BUT if you have not being doing this long you don't need ultra fast big torque run on hi voltage etc etc.
People tend to talk all abotut he best on forums like this and noobs buy stuff they don't need.

Wold chamionship drivers used Hitec HS645MG's 10yrs ago and still drove better than all us.

They are now a $40 servo.
For soembody relatively new they are perfectly good, just as strong, and you can buy 3 and have a spare, for the price of 2.
