Looking at buying a Hyper 7 ? Opinions ?
Hi,
I have an electric 1/10 buggy but had a go on a 1/8 nitro today and am hooked. I am looking for a cheap entry model which has good parts availability.
From a few searches, I quite like the Hyper 7. It seems robust and has some very good reviews and for $300 as an RTR....this is well within my budget !
I was looking at the Losi 8 as well but unfortunately my budget wont stretch to $600 !
Are there any other models I can look at that are good for bashing ?
Thanks

i would take a look at the Kyosho inferno neo rtr kit. Ofna to me is very old and doesn't seem to be up with the times, where kyosho is a more relevant company with better overall quality!! just my opinion, hope it helps ya out

All good starters but i have to agree the hyper 7 is getting to be older and older. The other buggies are newer and some of the newest technology.. you might not notice if you are bashing but you get what you pay for.. i would stick with one of the top 3. But i have heard the hyper 7's are just about bulletproof. Just old technology nowdays.

Old is not always bad. I picked up a hyper 7 pro last year so I could convert it to a late model this year. I did run it as a buggy first and it handled very well. On one of the days I even let the 10 year old ace truggy driver we have run it and she ran away from the mugens and durangos at the track. She tq'd and won the main with the "old" buggy. Plus parts are everywhere on ebay and tower has a lot of them.

like i said before there just older, never said they sucked or couldn't get the job done!! there just not up with the newer technology thats all. Hyper buggies used to rule the scene years ago but just have been of late out shadowed by losi, associated, mugen etc. But for 300 its not a bad deal for "bashing"
