Understand. 1/10 electric has been making a big come back in alot of areas over the past year. Add to that the SC classes and lots of tracks and clubs are trying to build tracks that can be enjoyed by 1/8 and 10th scale. I personally just want to race. Tip toe, flat out or in between as long as it's on a track I'm good.

I was surprised at the amount of people who owned a stadium truck at my track all the vets or guys that have been in the hobby for awhile had that's how our class started our track will accomindate if there enough enough racer for a class they will make room and theirs enough with more buying.

I'm very doubtful of this. The reason it went away was because there weren't suitable tracks for it. Outdoor tracks had jumps that were too big and got blown out and rough, which has only gotten worse with the advent of the truggy. Most indoor tracks (smooth enough/high enough grip) don't do nitro.
I don't see any of that changing.
2wd buggy didn't come back from anywhere, it's continued steadily. It just got more popular with the 22's release.

Yeah main reason I just bought a used GT2 was to get nitro stadium running around here again. If you bring them they will come. Alot of people have these cars laying around, you just need to get the dust off. Also my thought was we could run the gas stadiums with the electric ones until we can get a class going on its own. With the resurgence of electric stadium, I think it would be do able!! Maybe not as competitive but at least I can run it.

I'll respectfully disagree with you for two reasons - one, tracks around here are being built so SC and nitro can run on them, and two, truggy is dying off. most people only run truggy at larger races to give them track time and something to do during the 20 heat long qualifiers.

I think your impression of truggy is regional. Where I am Truggy is just as well participated as buggy and tracks aren't being built or maintained any differently for SCT. 2wd SCT's run very poorly on our outdoor tracks, anywhere there's a small jump or two and a breeze really.

got the 125 all ready to race today!
thanks to the OP for opening the thread! I had forgotten how much fun these are.
The mill is a Nova MT12- best motor EVER for gas truck- with a hardcore head on it (gotta match the scheme)
Steering- HiTec 5995
Throttle- JR 590M
It's got all the bells 'n tricks from back in the day- MIP diff, clutch, lightweight flywheel, Tebo camber link mod, 6 point chassis brace, etc. It's ready to rock (except for mismatched ball cups, gotta get those tomorrow) Now I need to get the GT2 quick change kit and start tradin some buggy and truggy tires for 1/10 tires!

No one mentions the hpi firestorm. Is it not in the same class?

Hey guys. Sorry to dig up such an old thread, but the title fits my question - as does the quote.

Anyone have experience with this ST? Thinking about getting one for my gf. That, and I like ST's anyway. .18 engine is bigger than I remember for nitro ST, but thinking that will give it a little extra push practicing on the 1/8 tracks here in the Houston area.
Anyway, opinions? Cheers, -arnie-
