hey everyone new to the site nice to meet you. names Jose. i wanted to post and talk to the pros. im in arizona and got these cars off craigslist. one was running other was a parts car. first one that runs is a duratrax axis pull start was broken and my bumper starter was broke so i couldnt test it lol but bought it anyway came with everything. im gonna get a one way nut friday because i fixed the pullstart or put it back together, the second is a hyper 7 witht the mach28 the motor was loose and sitting funny, gears not lining up right, and missing shocks and steering servo because they put them on the axis. the motor sounds funny when i shake it like theres someing lose inside, but yea hear are some pics wanted to know what u guys thought if i should replace the motor with a .21 or go with another .28 or even a os.30 like nitro alot so want the axis to bash and the hyper to race and bash a lil thanks for looking here are some pics

suicideracing13 02-19-2012 06:56 PM

where is it at?

and could i run a 5.9 because im thinking of buy that instead of the .28 friday thing is beast.

Seattlelife22 02-19-2012 09:04 PM

you really just need to look at the .21 for the buggy and truggy that is really all you need if your going to be racing.
You should talk to Monty houston on here. The thread is under houstons engine service...great guy and great customer service. Give him a budget and he can try to make it happen.

thanks yea i want to race but i like the power of the 5.9 but i know the .21 would be more practical

LosiPRRACER 02-19-2012 10:05 PM

a good .21 will feel more powerfull then that big heap of crap

+1
The good .21's are more powerful than nearly all .28's or other big engines, despite what the .28 marketing junk says. The Nitro Challenge is running at Fear Farm at I-10 and the West-side 101. Monty Houston will be there, along with the top pros. It runs from Wednesday to Sunday night, make it out to watch if you can.

thanks i think it was a good deal to i wanted to ask you guys whats the difference in the raze and the axis? is it just the motor i use to have a raze and i like it was fast and handled well but wanted to know if it was the same chassis just different motors? or is the whole layout different thanks guys thinking of getting a alpha .21 what the difference in the ports whats better and why thanks guys just want to be able to comp. in the future:spidey:

you paid about what those cars are worth.... if I were you I wouldn't listen to the engine suggestions these guys are offering...you don't need a tight pinch race .21 LOL, these guys are just a little too eager to promote their brand favorites...your better off just buying yourself a Losi Mach 427 or 454 and have a little fun and see if you like the hobby.....I wouldn't spend much money on those cars if you don't have to..... The engines these guys are recommending require starter boxxes and a bit of experience to use.....At this stage your better to buy some form of a rotostart engine like a Mach 427...... .....

edit: these guys are definitely recommending good engines to you, but at this point I think your better off starting with a more novice oriented choice....
