I am going to take my nitro buggy to my local hobby shop to help me get it started. Does this usually cost money or is it usually free:confused:

My kid works in a hobby shop. If he can fix it in a few minutes, they won't charge you. But if it will take some time and parts, most likely they would tell you the parts price and do it for that! They get and keep customers that way! Advice is always free!
|
I didnt buy the vehicle from the shop, how much do you think i will have to pay?
|
I do know nothing is broken, so advice is probably all i need
|
Have you tried getting it going yourself first? Start by looking up the stock carb settings for your motor, put in a fresh glow plug and fuel and give it a try. Theres lots of people on here that would be happy to try to help get you going.

advice over the phone is no different, if not worse, than asking here. And it's free. Most likely they will tell you to bring the car over, make it look hard, and charge you up:lol: |
Do you have a race track near by? Maybe try and find a local racer willing to lend a hand..
|
i dont think i have a local race track...

one of quite a few vids on YT that can help you.

We help people out as much as we can without charging a dime. However, I will say that the mood I'm in and the attitude that you show me will be the deciding factor.
Most tuning issues if the car is new is free. Afterwards around $10. If you have an attitude, you must leave it and I will get to it in about a week. |
I'd like to ask what is the problem with the engine? Why can't you get it started?? Or is it simply afraid of doing something wrong? If you don't want to do anything wrong, I can understand, but if this is your first Nitro engine, you need to understand it is Junk already, you just haven't tore it up yet.. I say that because I have yet to meet anyone who's first nitro motor last as long as the 2nd or 3rd, etc...
Pre heat the engine with a Heat gun, the kind you use to peal paint, get it at a harware store. Prime the engine, and start that bad boy.. Idle the first tank, then start slwly driving it around for 1-2 tanks, lean it a touch (1 hour like the hands on a clock) on top, and drive a few more tanks, leaning after each tank.. Also after the first 5-6 tanks let cool off completely then reheat and restart.. When you have about a gallon of fuel through it you should be broke-in and ready for a race tune.. |
