Prices on kits?

I have been watching AMAIN in the past couple days and seen they started upping prices. I mean it's not much but still, why the increase JW?

Mugens up to $499 & $529 from $479 & $509
Sworkz $469 up to $489
Serpent $ 539 from $529
Durango $559 from $549
Hyperstar $499 from $479
Agama 2011 & Xray increased as well, I'm pretty sure
Drop in the Agama A8 Evo though..

Probably just typical Amain. They are overpriced versus competitors most of the time on any given day anyways so if I dont have to buy from them, I try my best not to. Time and time again, I put some items in the cart, then go to stormer or ashford, etc, put those same items in their carts, I end up saving like lots. You can try it and see what i mean.

True, but October is not even over. Mcion I have noticed other places also, I think absolute and stormer seem pretty good

My guess is they follow the hype or winning car/manufacture sells on price choice for the week. The day a mbx6 is at 500 again then i will be in order lol.

The prices are probably fluctuating for a couple reasons... how much inventory they have of each, the fact the nitro season is almost over, what brand status is (big wins to influence purchases, rumors a new model is coming to restrict purchases, etc), competitor pricing, etc.

uhm, dont wanna state the obvious but dont you think that maybe their prices just reflect what is going on in the rest of the world/...most of the kits are imported. in most other countries, like my own, we sortoff accept fluctuating prices due to economic conditions in the rest of the world, as like in yours...most of these goods are imported here. i buy most of my things from overseas through the web and i need to time it correctly some months. some moths the US dollar sucks a bit more than other months against my currency..same with the Euro...and then i get away with some serious bargains on my side...it's the same with the stores...they pay more for stuff...then so will you, kinda obvious really. but that being said, i guess it would make sense to increase prices a bit over x-mas...

drs92 10-19-2011 03:16 AM

Uhmm, kinda weird as only Nitro buggies took the increase. Rsickles I guess thats about right lol. I was looking to pick up one and they jacked everything haha

It could also have to do with most of the kits mentioned now include "free" shipping. Might have to add in money to the price to account for the free shipping.

No longer "free shipping" at that point though is it

Use the discount on any of these kits

September/October 2011 Discount $250-$749.99 $25.00 CALPSEP1125

That for example would make the SWorkz buggy 464.00 with free shipping!!!

That is not bad at all with the quality, upgrades and options included with this kit!

Jammin#2 10-19-2011 10:15 AM

Ahh i see so they raised it to accomidate for the discount "deals" theyre running lol. Typical

drs92 10-19-2011 10:39 AM

Kinda cheaper without the whole free shipping thing! Your paying the old retail price basically :ha:

janderson78 10-19-2011 01:40 PM

There could be a million reasons. To speculate would be just that...

I can tell you the reason for the increase in the SWorkz has nothing to do with anything you all are thinking.

The first day it was listed it was at 469.00 I believe. We have worked with the MFG to get a good street price and have asked all of our retailers sell for the same price. So the reason for the change was because we asked them to change it so that all of our retailers are in line with one another and with what the MFG has approved. Nothing more Nothing less.

Thanks

Jason

Amain is notorious for price changes, more so than i've seen on any online shop.. everyone changes from time to time but Amain his most frequent.

most noteable after the Kyosho won worlds..
