I have glued up tons of tires but recently i am having issues with them coming unglued and off the rim on my Truggy, my current method is to scuff the rim with a wire tool on a dremel then i use carb cleaner on a rag to wipe off the tire bead to remove the mold release then glue it up using bands and Losi glue or aka whatever the LHS has. Any help from someone who has a better more secure way to keep my tires glued up tight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance..

Are you cleaning the wheel mounting surface after you scuff it? I wipe the tire and wheel down with denatured alcohol and never had one come loose. Since you are suddenly having problems are you sure your glue is any good?

no i never wipe the rim down i will my next set and bad glue could be a issue as well. is denatured alcohol better than carb cleaner? if so i will buy some today. Thanks

Use can also use brake parts cleaner has no oils in it carb cleaner has oils in it just by brake parts cleaner instead i wipe rims and tires with brake parts cleaner never have issues

+1 on denatured alcohol using it for awhile and never had a tired come unglued and its cheap.

Brake parts cleaner works best IMO. I used to use denatured alcohol, tried brake parts cleaner and the bond just seamed a lot stronger.

I use Mean Green degreaser. I've used denatured alcohol before but this stuff for me works better. Mean green takes the most brown mold release off a tire that I've seen and its super cheap. You can test it against denatured alcohol and youll get more brown on your towel with mean green. Usually you can find it at target near the window cleaners.

i use nothing, n use fresh glue. the brown shit is mold release which has no ill effect on fresh glue in my experience. but if you insist on cleaning i recommend using "mold release cleaner" since that is what you're cleaning....

i use astrengant skin cleaner to prep for gluing after i scuff up the wheel and tire....also works as a CA kicker (when used in proper moderation, i found this out purely by accident)

Another +1 for Denatured Alcohol! Wipe the tire and rim bead down and use a FRESH high quality glue(AKA is the best IMO).

I have found storing your glue in the frizzier prolongs its life tremendously!

Brake parts cleaner cleans off a thin layer of rubber (not just the mold release agent) and should hold the wheel the life of the tire providing it's glued properly.

To remove the tire from the wheel just soak in acetone overnight.
