Default Nitro Challenge 2011

Hello Everybody,

I have a quick question about the nitro challenge 2011.

I m planning to come at the race from Switzerland, but i have few question like :

I m travelling alone, and due to the traveling mode(by plane), i cant take fuel with me, any one now if there is a hobby shop around the track? or if there is a hobby shop to get my fuel around phoenix?

Winch tire is the best for the Nitro pit?

About pit man, usually, do you absolutly need your pitman or i can ask somebody on the track to pit me ?

And the last question, what about table and chair? (cant take by plane)

Thank you guys

I can answer a few questions since I live in the Phoenix area. Yes you can get really any kind of fuel you would like. Hobby shops are near by.

Dont know about tires ask that here http://www.rctech.net/forum/arizona-racing-156/ and go to the nitro pit page

Most people around here are more than helpful with being a pit guy

Im sure people will be bringing extras or you could just share with me if you would like just as long as you dont mind being around my wife and baby all day

I just sent you a pm. And I just noticed the team Durango in your sig. You are always welcome at our little camp too. We have a couple TD cars.

As far as fuel, in your sig it says Sidewinder. I wouldn't be afraid to just contact them, Im sure they will have somone representing them at the race, and they would probably have fuel for you.

If you need to ship anything like your race gear, you can contact Chris Stavros at One Hobbies 623.977.1324 or [email protected] (The Nitro Pit Hobby Shop). They are only 15 minutes from the track.

We have pit tables but chairs are minimal. You can pit with The Nitro Pit team guys if you would like. Just PM me and I will make arrangements for you.

Tires: One Hobbies will have what you need. Since the track will be fresh, it will start off with bigger lug tires and work itself to smaller pin for the mains. Joey usually runs it wet but don't know about this year.

Hope this helps and we look forward to seeing you.

Oh cool guys, i really appreciate all of your answers!

My first plan was to get the tire and fuel localy in phoenix but my flight land @5PM, so i dont know if the hobby shop are closed at this time.

As well, is a very big race so may be the tire goes away very fast and do not want to take the chance to run without tire ahah.

But for sure, i will go to the Wallmart and get a table and chair(may be a gazebo)

For pit man, yeah for sure i need some help to do(because is a bit complicated to pit AND drive in same time haha)

About tires, is better to start with tire like I-Beam and on sunday with Grid Iron ?

So i need a set of I-Beam, Grid Iron, City Block in Soft, Medium and Hard right ?

Thank you guy!

The LHS is about 15-20 minutes from the track, and I'm not sure of the store hours, it depends on what day, but the guys that work there will be more than willing to help, and will have the tires and fuel you need. If I'm not mistaken I think there's a WalMart nearby also

I wouldn't worry about medium or hard compounds unless joey lets the track go bone dry and it starts to groove...

Pretty standard tires at the pit include

M3 bowfighter / Green EBT, or AKA equivelant
M3 hole shot/ Green Kingpin or soft gridiron
M3 sniper

for Club racing, the new Losi Green blockhead tires have been really really good.

If the track goes dry, Losi red EBT (eclipse rear, XBT front ) Work well.

Hey Houston,
i would be nervous if i was a girl at the nitro pit with Xchange

Just kiddin' Rizzo!!!

I know Xchange and he is a good guy, anoying but good guy. You just need to know until when you can wait to tell him off . I wish i could afford his racing season

Frank, every car his has can't fit in his signature. I think, since the summer of 2010, he raced a: D8, RC8B, LOSI 8B 2.0 and now the summer hasn't start yet over here and he bought a Durango....

Keep in mind we race from really late may to september around here....
