Default AE RC8

I just can't resist. I'll be picking one up in a few days. I have a few questions about it, though. Will any 7.2v stick pack work for the starter? And does the reciever use AA batteries?

If your talking the RC8RS then I would think any 7.4 volt pack would work with the starter as long as it has the white Tamiya plug. I do not recall any AA battery pack or holder that comes with the rc8 rtr. I would get a 5-cell Nimh hump pack.

yes the car will take 4 aa batteries. the 5 cell packs are recommended. they operate at 6 volts instead of 4.8 volts like the aa batteries

Would you guys suggest this truck for bashing, but also maybe just some laps on the track for fun?

I have one SC8 and I can confirm that is a very strong truck with good engine...

No problem to bash the SC8 as long as you keep in mind that the ground clearance is about the same as a buggy.

Bleh, indecisive little ol' me can't decide between a Traxxas Slayer or this, the SC8. Based on speed, handling, and engine reliability, which would you reccomend?
