Worn Cityblocks good for anything?
I'm just curious. Right now for my truggy I have an almost new set of medium cityblocks, and a set of used soft cityblocks. The softs are worn down to their second pin now. What do you think they would be good for?

use them for practice for tuning engines
|
Haha yes, but are there any track conditions where they will be ideal and or excel?
|
maybe a track that gridirons or holeshots work. I did run a set of soft citys last year with about the same wear and to my surprise they did run pretty well
|
Try them out when the line is dust free, maybe a later qualifier.

A clean grooved track. Or for running in a new engine.
I used to keep a spare set of worn tires for stuff like that, not since I went electric though. |
I use worn city blocks on a grooved track, they hook up. Or you can cut them open to get the foam and glue up a new set.

Usually when my City Blocks get worn down as far as your saying they seem to actually get there 2nd wind. I goto Indy R/C World in Garland Tx alot and I know there a "BROKE-IN" set of City Blocks like this are excellent for a couple heats. But after that the track is so abrasive that they are usually toast after that. Usually after that I keep them for break in tires for my truggy engines. I have a set of Hole Shots that there is not a single pin left on them that I use for break in but they are getting pretty thin now. But used up tires make excellent break in tires for new motors for parking lot and drive way runs.

I think I'd recycle the foams instead of using them as break in tires.

use for practice....=)

hard packed with light or no dust, also indoor they would work.

Make earings out of them for the wife so she won't feel left out:)

it, depends how worn the blocks are on the cityblocks they can still hook up on a dry surface but they will still hook up pretty good when the track is watered !
