9kg would probably be the min alot would run.

really 300+ oz of torque on the carb? maybe for steering, but the carb needs much less. it only really needs good torque to be able to apply brakes!

curacing2 05-05-2011 01:54 AM

Is it for a .21 motor or something smaller?
Anything under 10kg in a 1/8th buggy will not last long with heavy breaking.

go for something like a 15kg ace or something like it.

808gx7r, i thought you got booted off.... or was that just from that thread.

say hi to Juan for me.

i use 12kg savox on throttle in buggy and 15kg ace on throttle in truggy

kai888 05-05-2011 02:11 AM

i used a hitec 625mg with 90oz of torque on my brake before and would not recommend it.

not enough power to stop the buggy had a few big accidents

when he says 9kg i think he means 9kg-cm which is equal to 125 oz.-in

I had NOTHING to do with those accidents

Hitec HS-7980TH - 611oz

This would produce enough stopping power.

LMAO

I have used hitec servos with around 150-160oz on the throttle/ brake and it held up ok. But right now I'm running Savox 1268 on lipo in the truggy, 360oz and ko 30100 which runs 260oz in the buggy. If I did it over again I would use the ko 30101 which rates at 436oz. As long as you set your endpoints correct there won't be an issue.

And yes, it's torque.

RAlmeida 05-05-2011 07:20 PM

Brakes are for losers...(J.K.)

omarwashington 05-05-2011 08:32 PM

I wouldn't use less than 150oz, mostly using it for brakes and don't forget the throttle return spring or rubber band.

dashstryk3 05-05-2011 09:26 PM

Im using the Savox sc1258tg for my throttle and brakes. Works pretty well i would say. 12kg of torque and 0.08 sec on 6v.
