the tg has titanium gears as opposed to the standard steel gears of the mg and the 7955tg is an awesome servo well worth the price and can also be ran on unregulated lipo for more speed and torque.

Nope, none of these servos are good for 4S Lipo unregulated......

If you're running the Mamba Monster 2200kv esc combo, then the output voltage of the unit is 5.5v.

Nitro boys use 2S lipo for receiver and servo power

i think you would be fine running in electric with MMM, at first i dint realize you had a electric, this is a nitro forum. but you should be ok, the esc itself has a regulator built in i beleive, if not you need a CC BEC to regulate the amount of voltage going to the servo/receiver.

Nothing. Any servo (such as the 7955) will work fine, but to save un-neccessary expense, I would buy a servo without HV ability.
I have found the Hitec range of HV servos unreliable, I've fried 3 of the 7940's in throttle brake application over the last year or so.

very similar servos both on 6.0 volts are 333 oz/in so i would assume that on 7.4 volts would be about the same oz/in which would be 403 oz/in the advantage of the 7955 is the titanium gears.

if you want my advice i would recommend the 7955 as they are identical except for the 7954 is marked as high voltage and the 7955 has titanium gears you will save a few dollars with the 7955 and the gears wont wear as fast.

either way you will be getting a great product from and equally great company.

As far as buying re-badged servos, i.e. Hobbico putting a sticker on Hitec products. I find that to be slightly frustrating when it comes to service. I would rather buy the Hitec product so Hitec will service it. Their customer service is excellent. Keep your receipts for warranty, if you have a problem send in the servo and in about two weeks you will have a rebuilt or a brand new unit.

Just buy a 7955 or 7950 and be done with it. Since you're running E and you can't get more than 6v out of the BEC in the MMM you won't get as much benefit from the 7950. I would just go with a 7955 and call it a day. The 7955 is one of the most proven servos on the market. It will do what you need.

Don't buy the re-badged hobbico servo. It is NOT a 7955, it IS a 5955(older version). Don't bother with the 7954 it is a 7955 without the titanium gears.

Back to the original question... It would be a good idea to replace the servo saver assembly. They wear out over time and it is wise to replace them every now n' then. The new replacements come pre-assembled and they are usually adjusted pretty well from the factory. When I build mine I usually tighten them in a couple turns from flush with the bottom of the tube. That seems to be a good balance of tightness and give.
