Electric vs nitro discussion

So the debate regarding pricing for both should be laid to rest. Anyone starting out with nothing could go either way and costs should be fairly similar. A few years ago, electric was more costly to get started but now with online shops, ebay and those pesky Japanese stores, I would have to say the opposite. We can compare later on if you like.
Now I see the argument now is a lot more hands-on tuning is involved with nitro than with electric.
Well, duh.
But electric has lots of tuneability, just in a different aspect. Its all done with computer programming, so your mouse gets a real workout on this.
NOTE: Your brain does NOT have to function regarding this, if you can click on a mouse, you are good to go.
Set the brakes, punch control, start-off power, motor timing, cutoff voltage, both throttle and brake curve settings. Just click on whatever you fancy and make the adjustments. Its not rocket science.
And to those that think electric's aren't real, well, that buggy or truggy that just blew by you on the straightaway or the one that did a backflip as he completed that big double, its not a figment of your imagination.
In fact, its your worst nightmare.
P.S. This is fun....who's gonna chime in next?

I started with Nitro which was a grudgingly slow process to get to the intermediate level I am at now. I run 1/8 scale onroad electrics aswell, and feel my Nitro experience plays a big roll in why all my cars are clean and tight (so does having a job and a willingness to blow tons of cash on this stuff). A true hobbyist would have some experience in all areas including Airplanes, Boats, On & Off Road, Nitro and Electric. One could weigh Pros and Cons all day, but they really are two different worlds with excellent attributes to both.

Not yet Obiwan....but 30 min mains are already possible and with 8000/9000Mah lipo's available, runtimes are considerably getting better and better. We run 2 SPC 8000mah 2S lipo's in the Savage and an honest 45-60 min of bashing is had. No, not racing, just trying to show you how far battery technology has come along.
And we'll see what they bring us by next year.
You might be eating those words.
