If your learning the ropes then sure and when you want to get serious upgrade to either a losi, mugen, xray, team durango,jq,team associated
did I miss any?

marto1996 03-27-2011 03:45 AM

i have been into the hobby for about a year and had the lrp for about 4 months and i might start just like going to the track and racing a few guys there and then maybe go to the race meets and have a crack at them

Serpent...?

For sure, learn with something cheap till your more consistant. When you feel more competitive, upgrade. Wouldn't sink a heap of money into an S8BX in upgrades though.

so is there any point upgrading the buggy i have now?

morgoth 03-27-2011 04:06 AM

Race it until you know the basics and get more consistent. If you want to upgrade, look at what the fast local guys are running. Much easier when you need help/setups and parts.

for my next car i am looking at getting i wanna get something like a jq, mugen, xray or something like that, i like the losi and team associated but everyone is racing them at my local track these days and i wanna be a bit different

the lrp is a decent car, just like the z-car in the US. They are a decent race platform that alot of people hace done well eith on the club sceen. It is all about set up and driving. Get a nice transmiter and servos and upgrade to a decent kit later.
