First off theres like 17 million threads similar to this one, so Id suggest you use the searchfunction.

Secondly Ive always hated threads like these because of people like DanELITE who instantly promotes whatever hes driving as the best option...

So anyways the first thing you should do is to decide if you want to bash, race or just run on a track for fun.

For the begginer to pro driver your best 1/8 scale platform is going to be the Losi 2.0. Simply for the ease of maintenence. "clutch". Just be sure to look into what is most popular at your local track. So it would be easier to get parts and or advise from your fellow racers!

First question everyone should be asking you is "what is your budget that you can spend to start off"?? Once you answered that I'll give you some good advice and tips.

Any of the top 1/8th buggies will do the trick. Go with what you can get support(parts, setup help) for locally... AND DONT GO BUY THE TOP OF THE LINE ENGINE FOR YOUR FIRST. biggest waste of money EVER, plus if you blow it up. Wont hurt as bad

We all know the answer... Losi 2.0 RTR. Everything you need in one box for a great price.

why do people always suggest the search function?

I use to try to search for a answer before i post and 90% of the time i would get off-topic threads and posts back. in my opinion the search thread doesn't work right.

as for buggies all the kits are good. hotbodies is the best bang for you r buck. just be careful of RTR's.

if it was me and i didnt have any experience with nitro i would go with the new RB One ready to race buggy. It looks like a very good entry level platform with everything you need to hit the track

The best buggy ???

All the top brands will be fine. Narrow your search to what others peoples near you are running and what your LHS supports. This will make parts supply easier and you'll be able to share advises with others racers/bashers.

And yes, the Losi buggy is an excellent pick because it comes really RTR.

The Mugen mbx5 is are great car. It's very forgiving and you can push it extremely hard. I've driven with a Losi 8ight too, it's a great car but gets a little sloppy after a while (not that it matters, the performance stays the same).

I just orderd another mbx6. The EU2011 Limited Edition

For a beginner i would agree the Losi rtr 2.0. The other brands I would consider are:

Mugen 6
HB hara edition

I think the Losi is the strongest and if you aren't concerned about the initial investment then get a roller and load it up with quality stuff. You will swap the rtr servos out quickly.

Mugen-Loves to be driven hard.... Lasts forever...Tunes easily....
Xray-The most well made car I've owned in 20 years....Flies....
