Default what lipo for ofna truggy starter box?

I'm trying to decide on what lipo i should get for the ofna truggy starter box. it will be for a dnx408. How many cells and mah shall I get. I want good power from the starter box and i want it to last a LONG time! Im sure i have space in the starter box, so let me know what's a good size. Also, does it matter the 'C' rating of the lipo? Is 15C lipo packs okay?

thx

As long as it's 4s and at least 20C, you'll be good.

I personally use this: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...Ah-Starter-Box

No 5S is too much. Use 4S

Also you may want to reinforce those tabs on the spring switch, they will eventually burn off

That might work just fine, but is it worth the hassle?

Zippy 4S-HK USA $17.47

Turnigy 4S-HK USA $19.11

I've been using the Turnigy 2200 20C packs in all my boxes for over a year now.

Never had a bit of trouble, but the extra capacity is always nice, especially when you wind up with the 'community' box....

I was selling the 5s 4200 for $35. I may as well keep it!

"Community Box"? Lol!

Sure loads of newly found "buddies" around you when you bring out that box...

Re-post...

To all those with the same setup, you WILL eventually have the same problem.

Theses starter boxes have little, flimsy contacts that, in stock form, handle ALL of the current the motors pull. Not quite the hot setup, IMO.

I had the same issue, so I made new contacts from copper(1/2" copper tube, smashed flat and cut/dremel'd to fit), but I still wasn't happy with the performance I was getting.

So I took it one step further and added a relay to handle the current.

This setup may be overkill, but it ALWAYS works and it's one less thing to worry about come race day.

And yes, it WILL start a Mack truck....

I like the idea of running a relay, is that an automotive relay? Any specific specs?

Any wiring diagram? Thanks!
