Default Tamiya Team in 2011???

Hey all: With so many vehicle and engine companies signing or resigning drivers over the last moth or so it got me thinking that Tamiya has been has been very quiet. I have a few questions about them moving forward.
1st Who other than Lee Martin will be on their team for off road?
2nd Will any of their current on road drivers be running nitro and or electric off road?
3rd Any updates coming for the 1/8th 801x/801xt and the rumored 801xe? Thanks for the info and Happy 2011

Almost all of the on-road team are currently racing the 1/10 e-buggies.
I believe Viktor Wilck is running the 801x.
The r&d and further improvement of the 801 will continue.

Sadly, I don't think we should expect too much from Tamiya. I don't think Ryan would've jumped ship unless ha had a good reason. Please don't get me wrong, Tamiya have made some great race cars, but they tend to be very fickle in the racing department: they can dump all their resources into a race team if they REALLY want results, just like they can bin the whole project at the drop of a hat.

Then again, time will tell.

Ryan's decision to leave Tamiya had very little to do with the car.

It's over and done with.

Tamiya is moving on this year with Lee Martin at the helm of the 801x.

We others are tagging along and helping further the development as Tamiya is very keen to keep in touch with their drivers and always wanting our likings for improvement. If majority rules on an item or two for improvement they eventually make it happen.

I hope to be in a position to defend my titles this year at the Nitro Challenge as well as Silverstate with my 801x and xT. (Bring it on Barry!

I have had nothing but open communication lines with Tamiya thus far. The team managers have been very helpful and quick to respond to anything I have asked. I am looking forward to 2011 and flying the Tamiya banner!

For anyone that hasn't seen it, A Main has the 801X for $380.

Maybe they've got a new car coming out?
