How to remove a stripped hex screw?
#2
use a dremel w/ a cutting wheel and cut a straight groove. then use a straight screwdriver

Take a soldering iron and heat the screw up with the tip. Use a standard not metric quality hex wrench the next size up from 2.5mm.. It's going to be just a bit bigger and might bite into the screw enough to twist it out.
That or you can use a cutting wheel in a standard drill to cut a slot. It's going to take a while and the slot might get wider then you expected but it works.

I had to do this twice two days ago. On one I cut the slot but I botched it up and the slot got to wide. So I took the dremel grinder and ground the entire head off. This let me "pull "piece one off of peice two.
On my second attempt I ground a perfect slot for a screw driver.
Good Luck

If you have the thicker cutting wheel with the ez-clip I find that it can be a lot better and safer (does not shatter) than the screw on wheels. I have been able to use the thicker wheel on 4-40 size screws with no issue. Same as 3mm

I've read that you can epoxy the allen key in the screw. Never tried it but it an option.
