Now with the 2.4 system seems like i have to be affraid that the batteries are going to go dead does anyone else find this to be a problem or whats best receiver pack to use

I dont find it to be a problem, last year I used a Reedy NiMH pack and had a spare ready to swap out. This year I've switched to a Reedy LiFe, both work well but LiFe will have more run time or you could go with a LiPo but you may need a regulator unless you servos can take the extra votage of LiPo, and whatever you choose all the Reedy reciever batteries fit the RC8B ant T.

Get a LiFe pack. If you have been out of the hobby for 5 years. It will give you al the benefits of a lipo and you won't accidentally burn your car to the ground while trying to figure out the whole lipo deal. As far as receiver packs go I think life is going to take over.

Yes a Venom pro will charge a LiFe battery. You just need to go into preferences and change it from Lipo (3.7V) to LiFe (3.3V).

Life is a good option, but I still run Nimh and I haven't had any problems.

I get my practice and qualys done on one battery, change to my spare battery for the finals. I have a trackside charger, but I've only ever used it once.

Changing batteries is a 2 minute job on the RC8B, so no biggy.

Whatever one you choose you should always have a spare. With that
said you can get 2 1600mah NiMh packs for the same price as a LiFe
or LiPo. So it depends as much on your budget as anything else.
