Hey guys i got an RC8 used, everything is in good condition, but before i installed my servo for the steering i was testing to make sure there was no friction going on, but i noticed that there was, not enough to make the servo brake or anything but enough to deffinetly slow it down and cause stress on it.

So the steering is smooth from left to right but it takes more force then i would like with no servo in it, my question is what is causing this, is there a screw to tight? there is no dirt or grime in the steering area. I am familiar with 10 scale steering but not 8th scale.

Something somewhere is binding or ya bearings are fubar.

Only way to sort it is to start at one end and finish at the other.

Take off ya steering rod ends from the hubs and check that the hubs move freely.

Then with the steering rods still disconnected, try the rest of the steering assembly.

Then disconect the ackerman plate and try each side individually.

It sound a lengthy process, but it shouldn't take ya more than 10 minutes to single the issue out.

full droop? may be the steering rod ends binding. check the c-hub screws and make sure the bushing is short one on top and long one on the bottom. may have a short one on the bottom.

Sometimes you have to drill out the holes in the front hubs for the bushings.
