Either your going the wrong way, or the one way bearing is bad.

What kind of engine is it? I have a Dynamite Mach 427 and Mach 28 on my XXL. The Mach 427 used to slip when the one way bearing was going. They also slip when the engine is cold. What I have done was just keep spinning it till the engine starts and once started I didnt have a problem for the day unless the engine cooled back down.
