HB D8T HELP
so my D8T is now acting up
my breaks are WEAK someone out there must no how to strengthen the breaks on a D8T even if i have to buy parts for it or something im in need of help. i first had it set up the stock setting as it tells u in the book. but now those settings dont give me full strong breaks like they used to. my break disks are good and so are the steel pads. what do i do ?:confused: |
your disks could be glazed...take them off and clean them or replace them, also make sure the batteries are charged for the reciever. and make sure the brake servo is pulling the full amount you want.

all of that has been checked off the to do list
i no its different with every car but if someone with a D8T could take pictures of there breaking set up and there pads that would be a big help and i could work off that |

well thats the only 3 things that could cause them to not "work"...or you have a weak throttle/brake servo?

If you tighten the two screws that secure the pads (front and back brakes) you will lock the pads onto the disk. Then just backoff until there is no drag.
What servo are you using? Are you sure your battery is fully charged and in good shape?[/ |
oh ok i understand that
but the main problem is i have all the set it nicely but say im hittin a jump at the track then land it and theres a nice tight turn right at the bottom of the landing im not going to be able to break strong enough to be able to pull a fast u-turn to keep the lead. i would have to land the jump hit the breaks and my truck will still be moving pretty fast while i am breaking before i can make the turn. or say im siting down with my car and im pushing it back and forth if i hit the breaks it will dip down and slow down but i can still push it with my hands |
they r hiteck servos
and yes battery is fully charger |

One other thought. Have you changed your EPA setting for the brakes? Have you tried increasing the brake EPA (assuming it's not at 100%)? |
well at the moment i do think it is the servo but i dont really no
im going to change it for a high tourk servo i do think that mihgt really help my problem |
what hitec servo do you have? i found with my old D8T you need a pretty strong servo to get it to stop.

oh its not top of the line more bottom end due to the fact i spent my money on a pip engin and steering servo

The Hitec 7955 will get the job done and last you for several seasons.
Also Savox has some nice fast/torque servos at a reasonable price. |
