Default buggy into truggy???

Hey all, I picked up an ofna violator 9.5.

Was wondering, Could I slap some truggy tires on this thing???
What else would i have to do for this buggy to be considered a truggy?
I'm not lookin to race in a truggy class or anything, was just curious if it is possible, and what would be involved.
Definitely want to put slightly bigger tires on it though.
Any thoughts?

Should have just bought a Truggy. You can put truggy tires on it wont handle worth a poop though. Chassis to short. you need longer a- arms etc etc. longer axles etc. etc......

Well the violator is a little wider then standard buggys, so that probably won't be to bad on the handling.

I think your right about buying a truggy...
Which would you prefer for a good roller, I got engines and radio..

I run a Losi 8T 2.0 but there all pretty much about the same. If you dont have a big budget the hot bodies D8t is a good one .

You will have to change the the diff rings and pinions to a lower ratio to offset the bigger tires as well as change the clutch/spur ratio too. Thats the major change between buggy and truggy as well as the chassis is different, the suspension arms, camber links, drive shafts, ect, ect, ect. It's possible to change it too a truggy, i don't think you want to spend that much.

Dont bother converting it. Run the buggy as is, and get a truggy when you can. It will be a lot of hassle and money to get it into a truck platform.

Good to know. I dont think i would drop them money transforming this car into a truggy, i got it for $140 with an engine, plus i had some spare servos and rx/tx laying around.
So i think ill just bash this thing for a while.
If it would cost $100 to switch it, i would rather take that $100 and put it towards a truggy.

If i got some truggy tires for cheap($20-40), what am i looking at for gears?
smaller cb, or larger spur?? as far diff gears, ive searched for various size's, but have had no luck finding any. if i do should i go up or down in size? I know its all relative to actual tire size, but just for ballpark sake, i would like to have the concept in my head.

Thanks for the info!
