I just follow these instructions.
http://www.losi.com/ProdInfo/Files/smartdiffman.pdf

Just make sure you get the springs back in the holes on both sides.

as we are on this topic, what kind of grease do you guys use. here down under, a tube of losi SD grease cost almost 10 bucks. its not really economical considering all the grease disappears after 2 race meets.

Default oil

you will hear different responses but when i was running losi i only used smartdiff in the center didnt like it at all in the front but what we did from the start is clean the diff spotless using mineral spirits and a brush rinse it all off let it dry then fill the diff with 7090 gear oil....?? im pretty sure it was 7090 but anyway ull find the diff doesnt get nearly as hot with this oil and the performance of the diff felt better....gears lasted longer ect....

I have parts and grease that I'm putting up for sale soon. But the sd works best with sd grease and it takes a few laps to break in after you rebuild the diff. The center needs to be rebuilt more often then the front but usually like a reg diff around 1 gallon.
