Default Agama A8

Im gonna be getting a new nitro buggy here soon. Im looking at the hot bodies d8 hara and the agama A8. I like them both, both look very nice but what is better? Id like a more stable car, doesnt need to be the fastest but stable is nice and quality of the car. Just starting out in the nitro 8th scales and looking to upgrade and get a kit and build it.

Check out the Agama buggy thread and the hot bodies buggy thread/Hara D8 buggy thread. Great info in those threads about the cars and the people in there will answer all the questions you have.

the d8 hara edition will be the most stable out of the two, i have driven a few agama's they jump great and accelerate hard but thats about all i liked about the agama, i personally prefer the d8 it does everything good and is a good stable car

So should i get the hara? Is it worth the extra money over the regular d8?

its worth the upgrades, i believe greg b on here said his hobby shop is selling the hara edition for 349 or something like that plus shipping, if you were to add the upgrades to the stock car it would be well over 600, i am running the hara edition now

If you are new to racing I would chose the Hot bodies. If you have experience and are looking to get faster and try something different go with the Agama. They are both great cars but totally different. The Hot bodies will be easier to drive and more stable. The Agama is more nimble and can be driven harder. Either one is a good choice, so just pick which one you like better and go for it. I picked my first buggy because it had the coolest paint job out of all the ready to run buggies that were in my price range

You should really try and drive both and then make your decision. They are on complete oposits of the buggy world. I will tell you in my own opinion from driving both. the D8 feels slow and lazy, and doesnt have alot of steering, as well as jumps like a brick. To me the Agama is alive. its quick and nimble. Jumps nice and level and Will turn on a dime and yet its very very stable. Some like there cars unresponsive and some like there cars to be active, Thats why I sugest you try and drive both.

I can set my agama up drive pretty much like my d8 did. Stable with very little steering.

I don't think I could setup my d8 to drive like my agama. The only way I could get that much steering out of it would have been to make the rear loose. Nothing I could do would make it jump like an agama.

Default Agama vs HB

I have driven both, The HB D8 is a good buggy but will show excessive wear in parts way too early for me. Yes the price of buggy is low, and parts are also cheap in price, but I would rather have a buggy that stays consistent for longer runs, not concerned about breakin or slop. Agama A8 has alot of aspects from a losi 8ight. Drives awesome, has more than enough steering, also with truggy gearing (just shoots out of corner). Very durable, has plastic bushing inserts in hinge pin arms for easy adjustments. All drive (center fr/Rr & wheel) shafts on A8 are same length (less spare parts needed). I would recommend Agama A8.

this makes no sense at all...so Hara would have done better at the worlds had he ran a "Agama" because its faster? not at all...I have 2 local guys one drives for vppro who distributes the Agama and they BOTH clicked off faster more conistant lap times with the D8 last weekend...I am plenty fast with my D8 and I have driven them all...
