ABSOLUTLY. and here are some more pics because i am bored and its snowing. here are several pics ranging from neutral,to full brake and full throttle. keep in mind that 80% of the set up here will be from your transmitter. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO NOT OVERWORK YOUR SERVO. THE TOTAL DISTANCE FROM COMPLETELY OFF THE BRAKES TO 100% BRAKES IS ONLY LIKE 10MM'S SO THAT SERVO ARM WILL BARELY MOVE AND NEEDS TO BE SET FROM THE TRANSMITTER ACORDINGLY.you can see i like to use a little more fuel line and i like a harder line rather than a soft. unfortunatly every engine mount is going to give a dif set up. once that you completely understand the inner workings of this set up it is actually good. THE PEN SPRING TRICK HELPED ME ALOT,

more,i also didnt use washers in the pad area as if you work the screw and back it in and out they will seat deeper. to remove some more play you can see in neutral that the master brake lever is off the diff mount 2mm's so within 5 mm's of servo pull im 100% on the brakes

Well for me to get my Dynamite DM Universal starter box to work with my 408 I really had no option but to grind the chassis some. Since it's pretty much the same box as the OFNA Truggy Box, I'm not sure how others are using it without having to do the same. Perhaps it's the Ascendancy 34mm flywheel I'm using v.s. the 36mm(?) Durango flywheel.

Either way, I think the problem is solved and I'm ready to FINALLY finish breaking in my engine. Unless something unforseen comes up, I plan to be at Mike's on Friday afternoon.

I orginally had a Mugen flywheel which is 34mm i think. OFNA wheel couldn't quite reach the flywheel.
Keen to try the ascendancy clutch, going to look into getting an ofna wheel modded so its a smaller diameter and thinner.

My original plan was to mod the starter box as opposed to the 408's chassis. I was working on a method to either transplant the top plate and chassis support posts from the Dynamite box to my Losi 2.0 box, or to transplant the guts of my Losi 2.0 box to the Dynamite. The Losi 2.0 box uses a single 775 electric motor with a reduction gear tranny which, via a short belt, drives a small diameter and narrow starter wheel. The Losi 2.0 starter wheel would be perfect for the 408's chassis due to it's dimensions, being small, thin, and true (no wobbling side-to-side when it rotates).

Frankly, if I had known ahead of time that the Dynamite DM box was just a relabaled OFNA I probably would not have purchased it. I've yet to meet an OFNA box that worked well for me and this box is continuing that trend.

Neither box mod worked out so I was left with the option of buying yet another starter box, such as the RB, or demeling the 408's chassis. I chose the latter due to the fact that this 408 project has already exceeded my initial budget.

The Mugen box works well, but it does require drilling 2 new holes for the rear pegs and shaping the pegs to fit between the chassis and rear arms.

I'll post up a pic when I get back home.

For those looking for another fix for a leaky diff, i tried putting a washer between the o-ring and the retainer pin, and its been working so far.

I use the blue ofna truggy box. You need to move the wheel more to the center and here's a pic of the pegs. BTW it's the box with the dnx sticker on it haha

Default ASCENDANCY FOR DURANGO!!!!

Guys,

Just talked to our MFG. We will be producing a 36mm for you Durango fans. If you have a box with a small wheel the 34mm works fine! But with the truggy box it is a little short. Due to a move it will be about Feb 14 when they ship to us. If you would like to Pre-Order email us at [email protected]

The blue Ofna box works well. Small mod though.

Good news on the ascendency clutches. Look forward to seeing the 36mm version.

Default Starterbox

Does anyone know if it works with a Losi startbox, and if you need to make any modifications? I am waiting for my Durango, it is in the customs.

The Z01-B SG I'm driving isn't quite as narrow as the JQ or DNX, but I also had to move the starter wheel in to get to the flywheel through the chassis hole.
