Hey all: With Jason Ashton,Gene Hickerson and now Andrew Smolnik no longer with CEN racing what does this mean for the future of CEN specifically in the USA market? Thanks

I have a feeling CEN are dropping 1/8 racing all together. They seem to have there focus set elsewhere.

I don't think it's going to go good.

ITS EASY TO "GET BACK IN THE GAME".

LOOK AT THE TOP 5 MODELS AVAILABLE, PUT YOUR OWN SPIN ON THERE ATRIBUTES AND START PRODUCING YOUR OWN VERSIONS. ITS NOT LIKE THEY HAVE TO START ALL OVER FROM SCRATCH.

I think CEN lost a lot of racers when the R2 never made it past the RTR model, and no truggy.

Yeah the C-1 was the only factory buggy they had, but they did have a factory truggy Matrix Arena TR FRE. They were some solid rides at one point

THAT TRUGGY IS NOT GONNA DO WELL , COMPETITIVELY.

YOU CAN TELL THAT JUST BY THE CHASSIS LAY-OUT.

Why would you say that, the first Arena TR was a good truggy if setup right. the updates are just to far apart. And the chassis layout looks fine, probally not on par with Mugen or Losi, but its good at its price point.

Since you say your new to the hobby and probally never seen a CEN when people were still running them, I wont say to much. Just dont bash A company just on looks alone, everyone knows its 90% driver and 10% car. Being as though CEN took so long updating it might not have the same following as it once had. And I was talking about your price point i was speaking in general.

Here in the US how many CEN vehicles has any of us seen at the tracks? Especially over the last 2 years? They have been out of the game for so long it's going to be very difficult to break back into the racing scene, especially with all the new buggies and truggies hitting the market over the last year and 2 more proven winners on the way. I was told that CEN factories make allot of the hop up parts for all the different companies so there cash flow is just fine, but as a top contender on the racing circuit they may be done. Of course that's just my opinion.

"koop" ,

Read again, i wrote im NOT new to the hobby. Its the forum im new to..... look at the chassis. its not even "machined" for rigidity.

* the shock-caps are plastic(weak point). they actually do break, stress from landing jumps.

* motor mounts (old school, non competitive).

theres more but i wont look at it long enough.

by the way: i was speaking from a competitve standpoint, ive also handled their truggys and owned (2) of their bugggys, so im not exactly coming outta left field.
