ok if was between the two then kyosho tk12 mp9, only cause I have spent that extra money on my 808 and it all adds up to where the kyosho is priced at now, parts are easier to get and serpent has really only been released not to long ago so you could argue that its not race proven yet. just some little things to think about. another guy at our track just got the TK12 this is what he said:
Then I spent a solid two afternoons/nights putting togther the new Kyosho MP9 TKI2 kit . For anyone wanting to get one, know this. If your engine is a poofteenth larger than normal, it won't fit. If your pipe is slightly rounder than normal, it won't fit. There is absolutely no room for anything in this kit. It all goes together with millimetre gaps btween everything. But, the end result is freaking awesome (to look at - haven't driven it yet). It took many many many hours to cut enough plastic out of the shell to actually let it fit. I reckon I would use 5ml of paint, to cover what's left, with three coats.
goodluck with the choice

I use novarossi +4 with a 9901 pipe and short manifold that will fly in the mp9
basically the same engine/pipe that adam drake uses.

I ran the Mp9 last year and part of this spring and loved it. My son was sponsored so we got a pretty good deal on parts also. He switched to the
Losi this spring and was suprised I like the Losi better and I am faster with it. (I run the intermediate class and usually finish toward the top) And considering the costs of both and parts cost I would go with the Losi. You would like the Mp9 also, not saying it's a bad car either. With the Losi you throw in the Drake/ Truhe setup and your good pretty much everywhere, with the Mp9 it seemed like we changes setups more often.

As far as motor, I started selling and running the Alpha motors this year and I would say they are the best $200 range motor out there. The green head and the red head would really work well in the buggy.

I run the werks b6 with werks 2057 pipe and for the price it is a great motor pipe combo, super smooth, great fuel mileage and killer top end power. It throws my TKI2 around no problem and will not break the bank.

How many gallons can the werks b6 take before needing a pinch usually?I wanted novarossi because they last forever.I have heard that the werks is an animal but not sure how many gallons they lasted.

Right now I would say that I have about 4 gallons of fuel on my motor and the motor is really good....I am not sure when it will need a pinch, it still idles great and no flame outs......realistically, for the price($200), If I get another 2-3 gallons out of the motor, then it starts giving me trouble, I will get a new one and not have to worry about pinching.......I am very satisfied with the werks motors. Plus with Ron(owner of werks) on RC Tech offering service and answering questions, you cant go wrong. That guy is very knowledgeable and Werks Racings service is second to none....Check the Werks threads and see for yourself...
